    • The Parthenon: This iconic structure on the Acropolis of Athens exemplifies the Greeks' advanced understanding of proportion, balance, and optical illusions to create an aesthetically perfect building.
    • Theatre Construction: Greek theaters, such as the one at Epidaurus, were designed with advanced acoustics and tiered seating to accommodate large audiences and ensure clear sound projection.
  2. Mechanics and Machines:

    • Archimedes: Perhaps the most famous Greek inventor and mathematician, Archimedes made significant contributions to the understanding of levers, pulleys, and buoyancy. He also invented the Archimedes screw, a device for raising water.
    • Antikythera Mechanism: Discovered in a shipwreck off the coast of the Greek island of Antikythera, this complex geared device is considered the world's first known analog computer. It was used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses.

    • Water Management: The Greeks engineered aqueducts, cisterns, and drainage systems to manage water supply and sanitation in their cities. The Eupalinos tunnel on the island of Samos is a notable example of Greek hydraulic engineering.
    • Clocks and Timekeeping: The Greeks invented various types of clocks, including water clocks (clepsydra) and sundials, to measure time accurately.
    • Textiles and Weaving: Greek looms and weaving techniques produced high-quality textiles, and innovations in dyeing and fabric production were significant for trade and daily life.

    • Astronomy: Greek astronomers, such as Hipparchus and Ptolemy, made significant contributions to the understanding of celestial movements. They developed models to predict planetary motions and created detailed star catalogs.
